First, let us go deep in to the roots of Mahabharata. The primary cause of the Mahabharata war was the dispute between the Pandavas & the Kauravas. The Pandavas wanted half the kingdom, which belonged to their father. But the Kauravas under Duryodhana wouldn’t give them even a small plot of land. For this cause, thousands of people lost their life. And after the war, they just `gave up’ the land, in sake of guiltiness of killing their brothers and other relatives. In fact, if they had been in this modern world where the law systems are well established, a simple partition suite could’ve solved the issue. Death of thousands of innocent people could be avoided. Another interesting thing is that the Kauravas would’ve easily won in that case. According to the story, it is impossible for pandu to have children as he was under a curse. So, actually pandavas are illicit children born to Kunthi, and their fathers are the gods like Yama, Vayu, Indra, etc. I would never dare tell that the great saga is a blunder, but this is just a thought to work your brains on. Just THINK......
